Our accommodation was set in a central location not far from Hathersage, and several areas. The rooms were high quality and updated with beautifully coordinated pair of arm chairs, very nice bathroom, new furnishings.

A beautifully designed superior room featured a large, comfy bed and luxurious White Company toiletries. The bar and restaurant buzzed with energy, offering great food, including noteworthy homemade pizza. Noise from neighboring rooms disrupted sleep during the night, albeit the responsive management swiftly upgraded me to a quiet suite that was fine. The breakfast was delicious, complemented by friendly staff throughout my stay.

Had an amazing getaway with friends! We explored some amazing walks in the Peak District, including a lovely trek to Chatsworth House and a visit to Ladybower Reservoir. The rooms were cozy, and the food was on point. The staff was super friendly, helping us with everything we needed. Don't miss out on the delicious breakfast! Perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy the beautiful countryside.

The staff were uniformly excellent - friendly and efficient. Dinner was very good, though prices are a little on the high side - though this seems to be the norm for 'the sticks' - not the competetition of London I suppose. The room was nice - spotless, newly decorated, and a decent size. It was very good value at the Booked.net price, though not quite smart enough to justify the full rate. Hathersage was a bit of a disappointment - no real heart and not a decent pub in the village. Handily placed though.
The bath in my room was too small for a proper soak and too narrow to avoid being enveloped by the rather nasty, clingy curtain when showering.

Clean, spacious rooms with plenty of room to move around. The breakfast offers a solid full English that packs a punch.
The room temperature tipped the scales towards uncomfortable, with a fan that helped but couldn't replace the much-needed open window. If you're a night owl, note that food options disappear after 9:30 PM, so don't let yourself snooze too long. Be prepared for noise from the music that carries, especially if you like a quiet retreat at the end of the day.

Everything was excellent. Staff was very helpful and polite, the room (19) was tastfully furnished and very clean and our meal was very good.
The hotel was excellent! I think the bed in our room (room 19) could have been a bit bigger.

We had a lovely night in a stylish room with a huge comfy bed and premium toiletries that made us feel pampered. The cozy garden area and inviting bar were perfect for relaxing after a fun evening. Although the hot water was a bit limited when we checked in, it didn’t spoil our stay at all. 😊

The hotel looked excellent on the internet and we were so pleased to find on arrival everything was a good as it looked. The hotel itself was very presentable and very comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful, without being "over the top" and Martin, the Hotel Manager was about all the time and very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and we must pass on our thanks to the Chef. Both my partner and myself found the food to be perfect, well presented and of high quality. This is our first time at the George. We will deinitely be back and would certainly recommend a stay there to any of our friends and family.

It was classy, cosy, comfortable, welcoming, friendly staff, good food, in a lovely location and much better than when we came before 10 years ago.
I forgot to pack my husband's razor and although the staff found one for him, it was not good and he cut his finger on it.
